Robert O. Rainer, M.D., MBA


Dr. Robert Rainer is the Associate Medical Officer, Director of Quality and Clinical Effectiveness for Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, completed a residency in combined anatomic and clinical pathology from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover, New Hampshire and a clinical fellowship in hematopathology from the University of Florida, Shands Hospital.   Postgraduate awards include a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, Six Sigma Black Belt and LEAN Production from Villanova University.  Dr. Rainer is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and is board certified through the American Board of Pathology: Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, American Board of Medical Quality. Dr. Rainer is also a Certified Physician Executive through the American College of Physician Executives.

Stuart Russell Sprague

Dr. Stuart Sprague is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at AnMed Health in Anderson, South Carolina.  Dr. Sprague participates in clinical rounds and ethics consultation, case presentations and noon conference presentations with the AnMed Health Residency program.  He has founded a hospital bioethics forum and is involved in curriculum development and research in family practice topics.  He is involved with the administrative work with grant proposals and development of Bioethics Consultation Services.  Dr. Sprague received his Master of Divinity and PhD awards from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He currently serves as Consultant, Medical Ethics Committee with the South Carolina Medical Association, Faculty Associate –Center for Bioethics, University of South Carolina and Coordinator, South Carolina Healthcare Ethics Network.

James W. Hayes, MD

Dr. James Hayes is currently the Medical Director for Research and Compliance and Chairman of the Institutional Review Committee for Oncology Research for the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina.  Dr. Hayes received his doctoral degree in medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed a pediatric fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston Texas and Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina.  He has board certification with the American Board of Pediatrics and American Sub-Board of Pediatrics Hematology/Oncology.  He has held multiple Chairmanships within the Greenville Hospital System and is a Founding Member of the Palmetto Alliance for Sickle Cell Care, Mobile Medical Missions and Taylors Free Medical Clinic.
